A Review of the Dell Streak 7 Wi-Fi Tablet

By George Blackwell

Those who had laptop computers initially gave the iPad an unenthusiastic reception, not realizing the capabilities of the brand-new gadget. Then people quickly started to realize the real purpose of the iPad. They became sought out, sales and net profits soared and all of a sudden all of the leading computer and mobile phone companies wanted to get in on the action. Tablets started popping up all over the place. Naturally, Dell is wanting to find its piece of the pie. The Dell Streak 7 Wi-Fi Tablet is the outcome of that concern. In this article, we are going to take a look at this tablet and see if it is well worth buying.

It's a good device for movies with a similar system to ipad movies downloads. The first drawback on this Dell tablet is the company that is making it. Dell isn't recognized for the quality of the products it makes. And as for customer service: well, let's just say if Dell had a trophy shelf, it would not be overloaded with consumer recognitions. After the warranty on your product runs out, you can expect to be charged for customer service calls to Dell - at least that is what many Dell customers report. You'll see that maybe the price of this gadget is lower than most, you must factor in the longer-term cost of the company you're dealing with.

Nowadays, multitasking between various functions is much in demand, and the Android OS version used here, referred to as Froyo, should make it fairly easy. It's not a requirement to keep particular applications "live" in order to get messages from the system's notification service, while simultaneously listening to MP3s and keeping your GPS information up-to-date. Friends and business contacts will constantly be able to reach you on your tablet because it allows you to access your email accounts, including Gmail, very easily.

Video chat was not part of the original iPad offering, and it's terrific that it is with this Dell tablet. Video chat feature is available in the Dell Streak 7 tablet via a front-facing panel camera and Qik software. Still, yes, there is a caveat: a person who has the same Streak 7 tablet, or something compatible, presents no problem - otherwise, incommunicado you will remain. What this means is that the video chat feature is not all-encompassing in its application. Another great thing is that the Streak 7 tablet features Blockbuster's On Demand service. We're not so sure that this is a terrific feature, after all, because of the troubles Blockbuster is having as of late.

So far, there aren't a lot of reviews about this specific product though a few people are wondering what the point of this product could actually be. The Dell Streak 7 tablet's real use is limited by its not being universal and its consequent inability to communicate with other devices. However, if you think you're missing out and you wish to determine whether tablets are truly the thing for you, the Dell Streak 7 is a low-cost way for you to figure it out. Before you , though, be careful and make sure that you understand what you're putting your money on.
