Some Virginia Festivals You Should Consider

Virginia offers quite the variety of festivals for every taste and even budget. Definitely there are festivals for shoppers, for nature lovers and even ones for foodies. It just basically boils down to researching properly online to find one that suits your tastes and pleasures.

A first notable festival that tourists should consider is the Daffodil Festival held sometime in the last weekend of May. It is usually a springtime event and celebrates the spring. Activities include live music, parades, dog shows, and even a 5k fun run marathon. It also provides sales of plants and bulbs and great barbecue and seafood as well. This festival is in Gloucester County.

Shoppers on the other hand may want to partake in the Frostfest. This is celebrated in the city of Richmond and is touted as the indoor flea market around. Many go to this event and avail of really deep discounts on anything from electronic items down to household and personal items.

You can also satisfy your sweet tooth by attending an event in Fairfax called the Chocolate Lovers Festival. This event is schedule sometime in the first half of the year and features cooking competitions, bakes sales, product tasting and a lot more, Definitely a must for the chocolate connoisseur.

A one day event called the Chincoteague Oyster Festival is held once a year in October. This is a city chamber of commerce sponsored event and is a family friendly affair. It features an all you can eat buffet of hot dogs, oysters, steamed crabs, clam chowder and many more. Local vendors of local crafts also attend alongside vendor booth contests and such. Good food and live music all add to the festive mood while you attend.

Late Christmas shoppers or confused gift shoppers will be thankful for the Bizarre Bazaar Christmas Show. This is held in Richmond every month of December and showcases over 500 arts and crafts booths vendors as well as food booths, all with a Christmas theme. They do have special events also but you may need to buy advanced tickets for these special activities, so you should inquire ahead.
