You could spend hours reading a book that you really love. It is not hard to do this if you are really into a particular book. Fiction or non-fiction are both very interesting to read.

You can explore different genres which can be interesting. It is always interesting to explore and be adventurous and open-minded when it comes to experiencing new things. It takes courage for some people to break out of molds, but for others it is easy. It can be healthy to do this so you do not stay stuck on a certain author all of the time, but visit new people's work as well. It is not hard to do this. A local bookstore in your area may have a lot of options for purchasing books. Visit one in your area to see what they have available. The books there may not be too expensive. You could also visit a used bookstore where each book is reasonably priced. Libraries are also a great option.

Authors are usually quite good at getting to the heart of their idea. A good author is at least. Delving into the theme that they have created is what they do best. The characters and plot must revolve around this theme and speak to the reader in a very special way for it to be a good book. You may get used to an author's specific writing style which is okay.

Reading is relaxing. Getting engrossed in a book can keep you busy for many hours. You can get lost in the plot and enjoy yourself so much that you forgot where you were. It is a great experience to be a part of what the story has to tell.

Other genres are also good to read. A good thriller can keep you reading for hours while a good comedy can help you laugh. Drama is very sad or interesting depending on the plot and what the characters are experiencing in their lives. Each character has a mission to fulfill and the author must bring that out in a certain way for the plot to work. Each character wants something.

In a mystery story, the detective must unleash the real cause of the crime. He or she must discover what happened and why and then find the suspect. It can get very suspenseful. Detectives will need to find the suspect so he or she can be properly punished for what they did to the victim. You can really get lost in such stories because they are enticing and keep you on the edge of your seat.

While it makes sense to keep reading one person's work over and over, you may want to expand your horizons and look for other people's works. Each writer has a different angle for a story. It can be interesting to see how each one unfolds. You could compare different authors, too to see how they differ.
