Finding Purebred Bulldog Puppies For Sale

By Linda Mitchell

With their characteristic looks and friendly nature, Bulldogs are probably one of the most loving breeds. Medium sized and heavy, slow and phlegmatic, friendly and lovable, these dogs are also incredibly stubborn sometimes, and quite moody. There are not too many high quality purebred Bulldog puppies for sale, and it is good to know a little more about the breed before choosing your puppy.

Among purebred Bulldogs, so called English variety is the most popular one. English Bulldogs should have certain characteristics. They should have rose ears, their forelegs should be bowed, muscular and straight, and their back should never be flat, but roached. Top of their head should be flat and broad, nose broad and deep set and lower jaw undershot and turned up.

Most pure breeds have certain health problems. When it comes to bulldogs, they mostly have problems with their hips, skin and hearts. You should expect some level of respiratory issues and a short lifespan. Puppies might be active, but adult dogs will probably spend most of their time snoring on some comfortable place in your home.

Maybe these issues can discourage you, but you should remember that most purebreds share similar problems. Bulldogs are so adorable that you probably won't mind their snoring, drooling or shedding. If you love your dog, all these tiny flaws should not change that. Dogs are wonderful creatures, and bulldogs are especially lovable, interesting and friendly.

Nevertheless, if you are prepared to deal with all this, you will have one adorable, low maintenance dog that does not need too much exercise, which will bark rarely, look beautifully and behave politely. Bulldogs are really friendly and really rarely aggressive, except when it comes to their food. They really don't like to share their food or to be disturbed when eating, and you should always keep that in mind.

Your bulldog will be perfectly happy if you take him to a short daily walk only. He will be happy if you don't take him to walk, too, but, you should provide at least some form of exercise for your pet, for health reasons. Remember that he is really sensitive creature, and prefers to be in a warm and cozy environment. He could easily get cold, or get over-heated. Take a good care of your pet.

Of course, he will be pretty stubborn. When he decides to do, or not to do something, the easiest thing you can do is to give up. He probably will not. When he is in the mood for learning, he is pretty good in it. When he learns something, you can be sure he will know it for good. He is clever enough to learn new stuff, but mostly simply don't feel like doing it.

These sweet-nature dogs are so lovely and adorable that anyone would like to have them. Even so, this breed is not for any household. It requires regular visits to the vet, special attention regarding food and living conditions, and this dog certainly is not a good choice for highly active people. If you find his character and snoring adorable qualities, this is a perfect dog for you.
