By Cynthia Kelly

Creativity is not something which you must forget about yourself. Instead, be able to hone it in every chance you get. You would have to go dark as your darkest tone. In an animal oil painting lesson, it would be normal for you to be pushed to deal with shadows more. Remember that your goal is to make your output realistic for other people as much as possible. With that kind of theme, your skills would easily be appreciated by others.

You may have started with a very dark base but you can easily lighten the tones with every new layer which you put. So, try not to prolong this task and be ready to attend to individual strands. Go through them one by one and you shall soon enjoy what you are doing for your past time. Just end with the lightest color on the final layer and the effects shall be awesome.

Be patient enough to wait for each layer to completely dry out before you begin applying a new one. Remember that your greatest enemy would be smudges which were never intended to be there. You cannot continue treating everything in an abstract way especially when you want to convey a specific figure to the public.

Pay more attention to the parts of the face of the animal. People tend to focus on this area and it is only imperative that you get the cheeks, eyes and muzzles right. Move from one area to another for you to have greater organization in your work. It would take you lesser hours in the workshop and you shall finally have balance in your life.

Move from the outside to inside. Also, try not to miss out on any detail especially when your subject is not moving at all. Make the most out of your resources and gradually increase the level of difficulty of what you are doing. This may have started as a hobby but once you get more serious, you can start gaining money out from it.

Do not be in a haste to wrap things up. Try to cultivate that manner of perfection in everything you go. Also, aim for bigger goals in your start up hobby. If someone is offering you money for your talent, grab that opportunity and simply let your creative instincts guide your way.

Do not give up on yourself. The whole project can go on for days. What is important is that you are enjoying this. Invest on both your skills and materials.

Wet enough the coloring materials which you shall be using. Plus, make it a point to use new brushes for most of time. This can give you greater control on the fluidity of your work and help you achieve the most authentic copy of your current subject.
