It was back in 2012 when David decided to leave for the Mormon mission and he left in the mid of March 2012. At that time he announced that he will be going away and taking almost a two year break from his music. He had no formal contact with any of his relatives during that time. He did leave a video message for all the fans before he leaving. In that particular video he attempted to clarify why he had taken such a choice and why its so important and close to his heart to join the mission.
