The first step would be to cut the floss to 3 foot long. Line all your floss according to the color sequence you want and tie 4 inches of it on the end. Secure it on the clipboard using the tape. After that, separate each of them.
To begin with, you do a basic diagonal stripe. Take the initial strand and place it over the second one. Take the second strand tight using your other hand so it can be the base strand. Loop the initial one around with the other. Then pull both following the opposite direction so you can create a knot. All you need to do after that is to keep repeating it until you can finish your second knot.
Continue doing so until you can come up with series of good strands and knots. Loop it again and again then create a new tie. Do so until you are ready for the next layer.
