It must be a quiet place where people are not making noise, most preferable a house. You can therefore decide whether to lease a room where you will be holding the classes or to decide to have them at your place of residence or at any other place which is convenient with your student and you.

In order to start off the classes you should set out to look for students to teach. You can only teach if the students are available. You should therefore strategies on how you will lure the students. Some of the things you can do include making an announcement in the daily newspaper. You can also print posters and stick them in public areas. The other thing one may do is to print flyers and then distribute them to various homesteads.

Planning is also another important aspect for consideration. Before setting out to plan, it is important to have an introductory class with the students in order to get the necessary information to assist you in planning. Some of the necessary information is to find out the various levels of knowledge the students have in playing the piano.

You can get this information by asking them basic question and rating them depending on how they have answered the questions. You can also inquire whether they have previously played a piano before. The other in formation to look out for is the kind of songs the students like playing or the type of songs thy enjoy listening to. This will enable you to know the type of songs to start teaching the student in order for him or her to gain more interest in learning.

It is also necessary to create a good working relationship with your students. You can achieve these by telling them your name and what you do other than teaching. You can also share with them your experience in playing the piano and any other interesting thing with will make you to bond with them.

You should also be in a position to recommend various books to the students so that they can read prior before the beginning of each lesson. This will make the learning to be interesting as the student shall have had an idea prior before the class. These preparations helps one to know how to become a piano teacher.
