By Tania Kiesel

When a piano teacher lack motivation, it will be difficult for him to be a competent person in his job, even though he may be a well knowledgeable person. Are you un motivated, then take a step and shake off unwanted and unhelpful thoughts, do whatever you can to get yourself out of the rut, so that you can do your job effectively. There should be a good music that can get you up, since that is what you do too, do not hesitate to use it. Many teachers pride themselves in teaching music without bordering themselves about listening to other people singing, the listening experience has helped lots of people world over to get their mind free and alive, use the same method for yourself, do much more than listening to your student playing.

A good teacher must keep abreast of happenings in the music world and learn new things as much as possible, this you can do by listening to the work of others especially established musicians that you love. Just like in any other professions and careers burnout do come in the course of working as a piano teacher even from other reasons we have not mentioned here. Coping with a student would not learn the art of playing piano at the right time allotted is a factor that can make a piano teacher get frustrated, some students are just non teachable, they prove to be a too know, or they are simply dumb. You should expect a situation like this and take steps to counter it, simply set a standard which you must make your students-to-be to be aware of and adhere to do not hesitate to do away with any student that contravene this. It is wrong for you to judge the students by the few mistakes or successes recorded at the beginning of the lesson, you will have to be patient for this.

Each student has his or he peculiar needs that must be catered for, for such a student to learn effectively, the teacher must address this as much as possible if he want the students to learn fast. Looking at the attitude of students and their responses in your class will help you determine whether they are enjoying your class or not, if you find out that they are not, then change your method. Nobody like unpleasant surprise, that is what piano teaching appears to be to students who do not know the rules of the class, you must not allow this to happen, do have a rule for the class open to the student from the beginning of the class.

You must be thoroughly trained and adequately prepared for your job, take lessons yourselves from time to time to shore up your learning and your skills, their are various materials today you can use to upgrade your skill and your knowledge, take the advantage of them.

Always strive for the best in your class, keep working at your students until they are the best. This type of atmosphere will help the students a lot to have enjoyment in what they are doing, get a good foundation in them and allow it to rub on others in their performances. If kids do not have respect for their mentors they do not see any reason to learn from them, this is one of the reason you must have standards.

Your explanation and implementation for these standards is also very paramount if you want your students to take them serious. use any easy means to do this like using printed brochures, and necessary advertising particularly in places where the students can find it and get the message correctly. Do not hide any information especially about fees, from people; it will not help you at the end.
