Phillip Romero is one of the most well known names in policy making, economics, and even finance. Being an expert with the collaboration of business and government, he has even served under a lot of governors as their economic analyst and even a part of their policy making body. With this experience and knowledge in this type of expertise, he also became a professor in several universities.
In 1983, Romero graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelors Degree on Economics and Political Science. After he finished his first degree, he took up his Masters Degree in Rand Graduate School under the program Policy Analysis. He also got his PhD from Rand Graduate School and finished his education in 1988.
His first job was an economic researcher in the RAND Corporation as well as a defence policy maker. Because of his vast knowledge, he was promoted into director of strategic planning in one of the corporations called UTC or United Technologies Corporation. Of course he was able to spot a lot of marketing opportunities for the corporation and made it perform well.
After working with the UTC, he was then appointed by governor of California Pete Wilson to become an economist for California. With his vast knowledge on economics and business in general, Romero was able to turn the state into a very lucrative place to do business in. Even though America was undergoing a recession, California was not badly affected by it.
Romero was also a head or director of the Office of Planning and Research which was the think tank of Governor Wilson. Through thorough analysis and proper policy making, Romero was able to turn the think tank into a mass of ideas and projects that helped make the government of California even more lucrative. It was only at the end of 1990 that he had to step away from this job because Governor Wilson was taken out of the position.
From that job of his, he then turned to the field of academics. During the year 1999, he applied to become a teacher of business administration at the University of Oregon under the Lundquist College of Business as that was what he was really good at. After some time, he became the dean of that college until he retired in 2004.
He actually contributed so much to the university when he was the dean of that college. During his stay in that university, the entire school received much publicity from the media and became one of the top ranking schools in the entire country. Also, many of his students became scholars and star achievers who also made a name in the workforce.
