Some Of The Works By Tommy LeVrier

Tommy LeVrier is an acclaimed playwright. He has produced many of his in major US cities like New York, Austin, Houston and Los Angeles. He is originally from Daisetta, an insignificant town in East Texas. Some acclaimed individuals such as the Pulitzer-Prize laureates Edward Albee as well as Lanford Wilson studied with him. They went to school to Houston University.

The two individuals would then produce his plays; Jesus and Phoebe as well as Rapture among the Oysters. The Stages Repertory Theatre in Houston displayed them. In his career, he has also won awards such as the Lone Star Award. He was a Nichol Foundation Academy Screenwriting Contest finalist.

Literary magazines have printed some of his short stories. Words Work and The Persona include some of these magazines. In addition to all that, he attended Texas State University; he has managed to complete his Masters in Playwriting and Directing.

In terms of plays, The Hot to Get Rich is a good one. Huston and Daffeney is an overly educated couple that finds it hard to get meaningful employment. Huston is frustrated by the inaccessibility of work opportunities. At one time, a glass pane at the Human Resources Office in the University of Texas endures the most of his frustrations. He drives his Volkswagen bug through it. Uncle Howie, their irksome neighbor resolves to offer the couple some financial advice.

Another play includes Alcoholic Drama. This story stars three rural women. They were raised up together. Violet, the eldest of the three and bullied her friends for most of her youth. They meet each other a decade later. Violet continues her old ways and evokes the buried traumatic memories in the two.

Jesus & Phoebe is another play that involves one Punk Rock Goth adolescent artiste Phoebe. Her parents, teachers and everyone else loathe her. A Hollywood cemetery becomes a place to discharge on Saturdays. During one of her escapes, at her bench, she finds Jesus and demands that he leaves. They finally decide to use it together and become good friends. Tommy LeVrier plays are sure to leave anyone yearning for more.
