Sound canceling or not it does not matter because you cannot hear others with them on anyway. And at its current price, you're getting a good deal. Regardless of how much I adjusted it, the discomfort wouldn't go away. They're fairly big and as one prior reviewer put it, they are able to make everybody look like "Princess Leia" from Star Wars! The low ones sound perfectly and never distort the sound.
Also, when put them on, I keep hearing this strange echo, even unplugged.
Midrange and treble detail is good enough to reveal shortcomings in the mp3s. The headphones sound fantastic and fit extremely comfortable on my small head.
Well, what do you expect for $20? They have comparable quality of sound as your 10 dollar rf wireless headphones you purchase at Best Buy. They are doing the task without any discomfort, and sound is great. Maybe it is not as good as my 20,000 - 36,000 hz home entertainment, nevertheless its an enormous enhancement over what I was using. If you would like leather earcups, pony up the money for them.
I suppose I did not read carefully enough prior to searching "buy headphones online", everything's fantastic, but the cord is about ten feet long! These headphones barely muffle sound at all (primary reason I purchased them) plus they are big.
Fit snugly and comfy, sound production is excellent (I am no audiophile so I believe its great), and also you can't beat the cost. There's just one wire coming out of these headphones - on the left side (my connection would be to the left so I love the one wire thing). They harm after a few minutes of wear and tear.
I additionally liked that these Sony headphones had the cord extending from just one ear versus the Sennheiser HD201's cords extending from both ears, only a little thing, not necessarily that important. Generally very difficult to pick up the difference tho, I essentially leave mine locked into songs mode, cuz that is what they are for and they are fantastic!!!! Seeing I've got a large head I had been wanting an appropriate set of headphones that would not hurt after a short while of putting them on, and also the write down about them meet my satisfaction. These headphones have an extra long cord (description says 3.3 feet but mine came with 11 feet). If there is an opportunity you may want richer sound, so if you have some extra bucks I recommend you continue searching for head phones. They are fantastic headphones, fantastic quality of sound, looks awesome, comfy, fits any head, and light weight. I recommend for watching films which has a switch on the ear bud for songs and movies, and I would highly recommend for movies.
I purchased these for my 3 year old and 15 months to use with their portable dvd player on our vacation. They're fairly comfy however they could be more comfortable across the top but round the ears they're nearly ideal. In most fairness, both of these are 10X more expensive ($200/each).
Outstanding construction! It's not that good as I anticipated.

Replacement of same item, outstanding, value for the money for a set of acoustic research wireless headphones. I was looking specifically for over-head rf wireless headphones to help dampen the noise in the environment sometimes.
